RuneScape Dragonwilds Tin Ore Location

Quick Answer

In Fractured Plains, start along the approach from Whispering Swamp, check the eastern side of the central plains, and inspect the northeastern area before planning a larger gathering loop.

Find Tin Ore primarily in Fractured Plains, with additional nodes in Stormtouched Highlands. Bring a Bone Pickaxe or better: a Stone Pickaxe does not meet the Tin Node requirement. In Fractured Plains, start along the approach from Whispering Swamp, check the eastern side of the central plains, and inspect the northeastern area before planning a larger gathering loop.

Tin Ore is one of the two mined inputs for Bronze Bars, but this guide focuses on finding and extracting it. The quickest way to resolve a shortage is to identify a workable group of Tin Nodes, gather against your actual recipe budget, and return after the nodes replenish. Do not rely on rare chest drops when a confirmed mining route is available.

Tin Nodes occur throughout Fractured Plains. The region is the principal place to search when you are building an early supply, rather than a single chest or quest reward you can collect once.

Three described search areas give you starting landmarks:

Search areaWhat to inspect
Approach from Whispering SwampThe rising path, the road bending left, and the route toward the river
Eastern edge of the central plainsCorners of the terrain and a cave containing deposits
Northeastern areaThe more secluded area with a building and surrounding deposits

Use those areas to locate nodes rather than treating them as exact coordinates. Once you identify the actual Tin deposits in your world, build a route between those confirmed stops. This is more useful than continuing to wander across the entire biome after you have already found enough for your immediate batch.

The plains contain enemies that can interrupt gathering. Check the approach before starting to mine, and keep your first trip focused on getting the material you need. A character that is not prepared for prolonged fights may benefit more from a small successful collection than from trying to clear every deposit in one session.

Inspect the eastern goblin-settlement area

Another described Fractured Plains reference is north of the eastern goblin settlement. Search around that area for Tin Nodes while keeping the settlement itself as a landmark. You are looking for mineral scenery, rather than a container inside the camp that guarantees Tin.

Combine this search with the central-eastern route if your movement through the region already takes you there. The settlement reference helps orient the search; it does not establish that each enemy in the area drops the ore or that clearing the whole settlement is a mining prerequisite.

Tin deposits can be less obvious than a large landmark. Look for the resource node itself around terrain edges and smaller clearings instead of checking only the middle of an open field. Confirm the item obtained from your first node before committing a larger portion of the trip to that cluster.

Identify Tin Nodes and use a Bone Pickaxe

Tin deposits are described as rounded piles of rock with green ore visible on them. Use that appearance as an initial clue, then confirm the node through its interaction and mined output. The finished resource should be Tin Ore in your inventory.

The minimum tool is a Bone Pickaxe, which belongs to Power Level 2. Higher-tier pickaxes can also mine Tin. If you already have a Bronze or Iron tool, you do not need to craft a separate Bone Pickaxe just for this resource.

A Stone Pickaxe handles earlier materials such as Stone, Rune Essence, and Clay, but it does not qualify for Tin Nodes. This is the first check to make if a deposit is present yet you cannot extract the expected ore.

Do not confuse tool progression with Mining experience. Levelling Mining can unlock spells and passives, while a node still has a required tool tier. Your tool and your skill unlocks contribute different parts of the gathering process.

A successful Tin Node drop lists one Tin Ore. That refers to the drop entry, not a promise that every complete route produces the same total. Count your actual inventory after each group of deposits, especially when another player may already have mined part of the area.

Use Mining spells without assuming they replace the tool

Rocksplosion unlocks at level 11 Mining and breaks apart rocks and ore. It can help with clusters, while ordinary pickaxe mining handles the remainder. Prepare your qualifying pickaxe before relying on the spell for a resource run.

At level 24, Summon Stone Spirits guides you toward nearby rocks you can mine. It is helpful while searching, but the destination can be another eligible resource. Inspect the node you reach instead of treating every spirit-guided stop as a Tin deposit.

Older guides call the detection ability Detect Ore + Clay. The current Mining unlock is Summon Stone Spirits. Use the current skill name when looking through your character's available spells, rather than concluding that the feature is missing because the older label is absent.

Ultimate Burst unlocks at level 51 and increases Rocksplosion's area of effect. This is a later efficiency improvement, not a requirement for your first Tin supply. Keep your initial gathering plan simple if your character has only the pickaxe and basic mining interaction.

Use Stormtouched Highlands as a secondary source

Tin Nodes also occur in Stormtouched Highlands. That makes the region useful if you are already traveling there for Iron or other tasks and want to replenish Tin along the way.

Fractured Plains remains the stronger first search focus in the described routes. Tin is less common among the Highlands deposits, where Iron becomes a more prominent material. Going there solely because you have exhausted one plains cluster can add unnecessary travel if another Fractured Plains stop remains available.

The resource does not change because it comes from a second region. Tin from a Highlands node is still the same input used by the Bronze recipe. You can combine supplies from both regions rather than treating them as separate materials with different processing requirements.

Keep the route appropriate to your current equipment. Being able to mine Tin with a Bone Pickaxe does not mean the same loadout is automatically suitable for every enemy along a Highlands approach.

Return after the three-day replenishment window

Tin Nodes replenish after three in-game days. The node's respawn conditions also require the player to be at least 100 metres away and built objects not to sit directly on the node.

If you mined a cluster recently, leave the area and continue another task instead of waiting beside the depleted deposits. Rechecking too soon can make a useful location appear empty simply because the replenishment conditions have not been met.

Avoid building directly over deposits you intend to revisit. Put any supporting structures away from the node rather than turning the resource spawn point into part of a workshop footprint. That preserves the node as a gathering stop and avoids confusing a construction obstruction with a missing resource.

A repeatable loop can rotate between the entrance route, eastern deposits, and another confirmed cluster. The goal is to return when a resource has had time to replenish, not to claim that a specific number of short laps guarantees fresh ore.

Budget the amount before filling your inventory

Tin Ore weighs 2.2 and stacks to 99. A larger stack limit does not make the ore weightless, so review the carrying load before adding unrelated Stone or other minerals.

At level 36 Mining, Not-So-Heavy Metal reduces the weight of metal ores by 25%. This helps carrying efficiency once unlocked. It does not change the recipe quantity or mean you can ignore the weight of everything else collected during the trip.

Immediate goalTin Ore neededOther listed input
One Bronze recipe batch33 Copper Ore
Hanging Tools35 Ash Logs and 2 Leather
Sawhorse26 Ash Logs
Medium Tin Nugget3No additional material listed
Small Tin Nugget1No additional material listed
Small Tin Bin504 Ash Logs

The Bronze ore recipe produces two bars from three Tin Ore and three Copper Ore. For a target of ten bars, five batches use 15 of each ore. This calculation helps set the mining target without expanding the trip into a complete smithing or equipment guide.

Decorations can consume the same Tin supply as your progression recipes. If you plan to build a Small Tin Bin, reserve its 50 ore separately. Spending the stock on a decoration before smelting can leave you short even after a successful gathering session.

Treat loot drops as an extra supply

Zombie Packs can contain one to two Tin Ore at a listed 10/100 chance. Several regional and Dragonkin Vault chests also have Tin entries, but those are chance-based supplies. They can reduce a small shortage while you explore; they are less predictable than mining identified deposits.

Garou Lightning Berserkers list two to three Tin Ore as an always drop. Use that information when those enemies are already part of your progression, while keeping the combat route separate from the tool-based mining requirement.

Beartach also has a Tin Ore merchant entry. Check the offering if you are already visiting, but do not assume the listing guarantees an unlimited stock whenever you need a large batch.

For an unfinished gathering goal, diagnose the specific failure: wrong region, wrong node, inadequate pickaxe, recently depleted deposit, or too little carrying space. Fix that condition before changing the entire route. A confirmed Fractured Plains cluster with the correct tool and respawn timing is enough to establish a continuing Tin supply.
