To complete Even More Restless Ghosts in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, speak to Zanik at Fellhollow, then resolve the unfinished business of three spirits: build a closed house around the windswept ghost, give a Clay Decoration to the reminiscing ghost, and recover the Dust-covered Sketchbook for the paint-spattered ghost. Once the objective reaches 3/3, return to Zanik.
Two progression conditions matter before you begin. You must have started Restless Ghosts, although you do not need to complete it, and you must advance Withering Heights far enough to activate all four God Shrines and remove the barrier around the ruined village. You also need the Ghostspeak Amulet obtained from the Crumbling Well in Bramblemead.
Bring a Clay Decoration, enough building materials for a small enclosed house, and mining equipment with Power Level 4 or higher. An iron pickaxe qualifies, as do the runes needed for Rocksplosion. Good weapons and armour, food, and antipoison potions are recommended because the route includes hostile areas and multiple zombies.
Even More Restless Ghosts Requirements
| Requirement | What you need | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Restless Ghosts progress | Start the quest and collect the Ghostspeak Amulet | The amulet lets you communicate with ghosts; completing the earlier quest is not required |
| Withering Heights progress | Activate all four God Shrines so the village barrier is disabled | Fellhollow cannot be accessed for this quest until the barrier is gone |
| Quest item | 1 Clay Decoration | Give it to the reminiscing ghost in Hope's Fall |
| Building supplies | Enough for one square foundation, four walls, a door, and an enclosed roof | The windswept ghost needs a complete house built around it |
| Mining equipment | Power Level 4 or higher, such as an iron pickaxe or runes for Rocksplosion | Required to uncover the skeleton and sketchbook inside the cave |
| Recommended supplies | Good armour and weapons, food, and antipoison potions | The quest route includes multiple zombies and potentially dangerous travel |
The Dust-covered Sketchbook is found during the quest, so you do not need to bring it. Make sure the other required items and tools are ready before leaving your base, especially the Clay Decoration and mining equipment. The three spirit objectives take place in different areas, and missing one item creates a long return trip.
Where to Start Even More Restless Ghosts
Travel to Fellhollow in Bleakfields Valley and speak to Zanik. Zanik is at a camp on the outskirts of the ruined settlement. If the village is still surrounded by its magical barrier, return to Withering Heights and activate all four God Shrines before trying again.

Quest start location at Zanik's camp in Fellhollow.
Starting Restless Ghosts is also mandatory. If you have not started it, visit the Crumbling Well in the ruined village northwest of the Wise Old Man in Bramblemead and collect the Ghostspeak Amulet. The amulet is placed in the quest-item tab rather than the standard inventory. You only need to start that quest and obtain the amulet; laying its four original spirits to rest is not a prerequisite for this sequel.
After speaking with Zanik, your objective is to find three ghosts and complete their unfinished business. The tracker records the spirits as a single 0/3 objective, but each ghost requires a different action. Merely finding or speaking to a spirit is not enough: finish its requested task and complete the follow-up interaction where required.
The Windswept Ghost in Emberwood
The windswept ghost is in Emberwood, within the ruined village that was previously protected by the magical barrier. Search the northeastern outskirts of the settlement for the ruins of a small home. The spirit is standing where its house should be.

The completed structure required for the Windswept Ghost.
The ghost wants a complete house built around it. Use the following construction checklist:
- Place one square foundation directly under the windswept ghost. The foundation can be any suitable square foundation; the important detail is that the ghost stands over it.
- Build four walls around the foundation. Include a doorway so you can enter, leave, and speak to the ghost.
- Add a fully enclosed roof. An incomplete or open roof does not satisfy the objective.
- Install or use the door and close it. The house must be enclosed with the door shut when you complete the task.
- Speak to the windswept ghost again after the building is finished and the door is closed.
Treat every part of that checklist as required. A visually convincing shelter may still fail if the foundation is beside the ghost rather than beneath it, if one wall is missing, if the roof does not completely enclose the square, or if the door remains open. Do not leave immediately after construction: the final conversation with the ghost is what completes this section.
If the objective does not update, stand outside the structure and check the entire outline. Confirm that there are four walls rather than three walls and an open side, that the roof covers the whole foundation, and that the door is visibly closed. Then enter or approach closely enough to speak to the spirit again.
The Reminiscing Ghost in Hope's Fall
The reminiscing ghost is in Hope's Fall. Travel to the ruined gates north of the dragon spire and look for the spirit there.

Location of the ruined gates where the Clay Decoration is delivered.
Speak to the reminiscing ghost, then give it one Clay Decoration. This hand-in completes the spirit's unfinished business. The quest data requires the Clay Decoration as a specific item, so carrying clay or another crafted decoration is not a substitute.
This is the shortest of the three objectives, but it is also the easiest one to interrupt by arriving unprepared. Put the Clay Decoration in your inventory before beginning the wider route. If the interaction does not advance the counter, verify that you are at the ruined gates north of the dragon spire and that the item you brought is specifically named Clay Decoration.
No construction or excavation is associated with this ghost. Once the correct decoration has been gifted and the objective advances, continue to the paint-spattered ghost.
The Paint-Spattered Ghost and Sketchbook
The paint-spattered ghost is between the Lake of Lost Souls and Coalridge Pass. Search northeast of the easternmost section of the tainted river. Speak with the ghost before entering the nearby cave; its dialogue explains that the sketchbook was taken by its husband and establishes the item you need to recover.

Ghost location and route toward the cave search area.
From the ghost, travel northeast toward a set of ruins at the mouth of a cave. The ruins help distinguish the correct entrance from other openings in the surrounding area. Enter the cave with your Power Level 4 mining option ready.
Inside, inspect the left side of the cave for a grouping of granite deposits positioned over a coal node. The skeleton and Dust-covered Sketchbook are concealed beneath this material, so seeing only granite and coal does not mean you have entered the wrong cave.
Use this sequence to recover the quest item:
- Speak to the paint-spattered ghost between the Lake of Lost Souls and Coalridge Pass.
- Travel northeast from the spirit and locate the ruins at the cave mouth.
- Enter the cave and keep to the left side while looking for granite deposits over a coal node.
- Use mining equipment of Power Level 4 or higher to clear the granite. An iron pickaxe works, or you can use Rocksplosion if you brought the required runes.
- After clearing the deposits, locate the uncovered skeleton and interact with the Dust-covered Sketchbook.
- Leave the cave and return to the paint-spattered ghost.
- Speak to the ghost again to finish its unfinished business.

Mining obstruction that conceals the quest sketchbook.
The excavation point is easy to misread because the objective is not sitting openly on the cave floor. The relevant marker is the combination of features: the correct cave lies northeast of the ghost, ruins stand at its entrance, and the mining obstruction is a granite grouping above a coal node on the left. If one of those details is missing, recheck the route before spending time mining elsewhere.
Power Level is also important. Lower-level mining equipment will not clear the obstruction needed for the quest. Upgrade to an iron pickaxe or prepare the runes for Rocksplosion before returning. Once the skeleton is exposed, interact with the sketchbook itself; uncovering the area without collecting the item does not complete the retrieval.
Finally, do not leave the region as soon as the Dust-covered Sketchbook is in your possession. The task ends only after you return to the paint-spattered ghost and speak with it again.
Return to Zanik
After all three spirits have been helped, confirm that the shared objective reads 3/3 and return to Zanik at Fellhollow in Bleakfields Valley. The listed quest reward is the recipe for the Dorgeshuun crossbow.
Before making the return trip, check that each objective ended with its required completion action:
- The windswept ghost is enclosed by a house with a foundation, four walls, a complete roof, and a closed door, and you spoke to it again.
- The reminiscing ghost received one Clay Decoration.
- The Dust-covered Sketchbook was uncovered, collected, and reported back to the paint-spattered ghost.
If the tracker still shows 2/3, revisit the spirit whose final interaction may have been missed. Building the house without the follow-up conversation and collecting the sketchbook without returning to its ghost are the two objectives that include a separate final dialogue.
Common Quest Blockers
Zanik or Fellhollow Is Inaccessible
Confirm that Restless Ghosts has been started and that you possess the Ghostspeak Amulet. You must also progress Withering Heights until all four God Shrines have been activated and the barrier around the ruined village is disabled. Finishing the entire Restless Ghosts quest is not required.
The Windswept Ghost Objective Will Not Complete
Use exactly one square foundation beneath the ghost, surround it with four walls, cover it with an enclosed roof, and close the door. When the structure is complete, speak to the ghost again. A nearby shelter, an open doorway, or a partially covered roof does not meet the stated construction conditions.
The Reminiscing Ghost Will Not Accept the Item
Check the item name. The required object is one Clay Decoration, not raw clay or an unrelated decorative building piece. The correct ghost is at the ruined gates north of the dragon spire in Hope's Fall.
The Sketchbook Is Missing
Begin at the paint-spattered ghost, then travel northeast to the cave entrance marked by ruins. Inside, search the left side for granite deposits sitting over a coal node. Clear that grouping with Power Level 4 or higher mining equipment. The skeleton and sketchbook appear only after the obstruction is removed, and the sketchbook must be interacted with before returning to the ghost.
Enemies Interrupt the Objective
The quest lists multiple zombies among the enemies encountered. Bring good weapons and armour rather than relying only on quest items, and keep food available during travel, building, and mining. Antipoison potions are also recommended. If enemies are pressuring you at an objective, deal with the immediate threat before attempting a conversation or working on the structure or mining node.
