RuneScape Dragonwilds 1.0.1 was announced live in the official Steam news feed on October 14, 2026. It changes ranged combat, inventory and equipment slots alongside save fixes. Check the installed version on your platform and server before following a patch-specific instruction.
What changes your next session
| Area | Official 1.0.1 change | Practical next step |
|---|---|---|
| Ranged specials | Shortbow Rapid Fire; longbow Power Shot; crossbow Heavy Bolt | Recheck the special for your weapon family |
| Ammunition | Rune arrows/bolts 4.9x; Adamant 4.2x | Update old equal-ammunition comparisons |
| Inventory | 32 slots increased to 40 | Review capacity before adding an inventory mod |
| Jewellery | Separate Ring and Amulet slots; Amulet of Glory bonuses reduced | Inspect both slots; old bonus totals may be wrong |
| Combat perks | Death From Above, ammunition-recovery perks and Low Blow | Check the relevant skill-tree unlocks |
| Saves | World-save fixes and corrupted-character catch-up | Check visibility, loading and saving separately |
Death From Above uses an attack from above the double-jump arc; Windstep can count. Low Blow slows eligible targets hit in the lower body, excluding tiny and colossal enemies. The notes do not provide a complete final-damage formula or revised Amulet of Glory numbers.
Choose the right follow-up
- Changing a loadout: review the combat builds, then test the controls and supply needs in an ordinary encounter before a boss attempt.
- Comparing weapons: use the equipment database and read the snapshot dates. The patch announcement does not independently verify every older stat.
- Updating mods: check each mod author's instructions. An author update from before October 14 does not establish compatibility with 1.0.1.
- Returning for future content: Luminance remains on the roadmap. Keep future systems separate from your installed build.
Check an affected save carefully
Preserve an existing backup before experimenting. Check whether the world appears, whether it loads, and whether progress survives a normal exit and relaunch. Record the platform, installed version and exact failing step if you need support. The official notice acknowledges that some save cases may remain; an announced fix does not prove that your particular world has recovered.
